Jan 19, 2014 6:42 AM in response to Roger Wilmut1by j.t.fromrotterdam,Just to make sure I downloaded the latest 11.1.3 version but that does not help either !?
So, please can anyone tell me how to change from 32 bits to 64 bits. In finder / info I can only find the 32 bits box and that has been unchecked. No sign of a 64 bits box that I can check.......

Jan 19, 2014 8:08 AM in response to j.t.fromrotterdamby Roger Wilmut1,None of this makes much sense; if 32 bits isn't checked it should be opening it in 64 bits (though my iTunes - same version - on Snow Leopard doesn't have this checkbox). I would suggest asking in the Mavericks forum as it may be a peculiarity with that system.
