Mavericks and Wifi weirdness

Hi everybody i have a simple but weird problem with my brand new rMBP late 2013.. I want to connect to my Wifi at the other side of my home, i can see signal with 5 bars, i connect to the wireless AP but cannot ping (or very slowly like 5000 ms) to the router.. The weirdness consists in the fact that at the same position of my macbook i have a very old acer notebook that is connecting flawlessy to the network..(it's an open network so there are no wpa/wpa2 compatibility issues) Do you guys think is it a Mavericks problem? Do you have any hints?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), 16 GB RAM 512 SSD

it definetely changes things, there was a significant improvemt the first 2/3 mins after reboot.. now i'm having similar pings before doing the trick..It seems very strange to me..:( Strange thing now i'm connected to airport express (2nd generation) with my macbook 3/4 meters away withouth walls and i get for example 5, 6, 10, 250, 6, 90, 68, 230, etc etc pings that to me are very unstable ones..what do you think? have i to call the Apple support too? Update:while browsing i'm surfing worse than before, i'm getting a jitteer from pingtest of 226 ms 😟
