Q: how many photos does i cloud support

Is there a lmit on how many photos i cloud can support. I seem to level out at 1000

imac, Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I have no idea.. But doesn't it seem strange that after the supposed 1000 mark half of my photo stream photos were gone?

You can keep up to 1000 photos in my photo stream and up to 5000 in each shared stream. See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4858and http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5902.
