Q: Bought an iPhone 4S of a friend and want to unlock it for another network

I bought an iPhone of my friend when his 2year contract came to an end. It was on orange network ... And I want it on virgin .... How do I get it opened to virgin... Please please please help... I got this for my wife's birthday ...

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

Your friend needs to contact Orange and request the iPhone be unlocked. If Orange does so and agrees to do so, Orange will send Apple an unlock request for the iPhone. When the unlock is ready, Orange will send your friend an email notifying that the unlock is ready. The actual unlocking will be done with iTunes.

Only Orange will be able to unlock it if they will honor the request; you will have to contact them and ask if they will do such for you.
