Had a thought - can I manage iTunes Match from a Chromebook?
No, because a Chromebook will not run iTunes.
Do not hold your breath for a "rumored iPad Pro." It is highly unlikely to happen. Apple doesn't do things that way.

What you are most likely seeing is your iTunes Store purchases. Apple also has a store service they call iTunes in the Cloud which allows you to redownload your purchases from directly within iTunes or in the Music app on an iOS device. This service is not the same as iTunes Match. You may hide your store purchases: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4919

Jan 21, 2014 1:42 PM in response to Tabrissby Jennneb,I was having the same problem with all of my music stored in i-cloud appearing on my phone. If you just go into setting on your device and go down to 'i-tunes and app store' in the first section titles 'show all' unselect music and this will get rid of the music you dont wish to see anymore

Mar 26, 2014 11:12 AM in response to Michael Allbrittonby dangull,Hi,
Apologies, I realise this thread has been quiet for a while, but I'm having the exact same problem with iTunes Match as some of the previous posters. I want to delete everything from the cloud and start from scratch, but no matter what I try the tracks just keep reappearing. I've tried disabling holding the option key. I've tried deleting in small batches as I've seen suggested elsewhere. As far as I'm aware I've tried absolutely everything, but Match still tells me I have about 3000 tracks available in the cloud whenever I re-enable it.
Is there anything else at all that I can try?!
Any help would be greatly appreciated as this has been driving me crazy for days now!
Many thanks,
Daniel

This worked! Thank you so much.

Jul 5, 2014 5:14 AM in response to Mwix4by lundejd,My wife accidentally sync'd music to her iPhone via iTunes while match was turned on.... I couldn't get the songs out of her iPhone even after fixing that. Here is what I did:
Turn match off the iOS device.
Settings->General->Usage->Music->Edit and delete. Kill Music app if its running, wait 30 seconds, and run.
Only music that should be there is your purchases from iTunes. Now turn match back on.
Incidentally, holding alt while deleting a song in iTunes seems to remove the iCloud copy maybe 50% of the time at best. I see them coming back into iTunes quite often after a re-sync. I keep a watch and always re-delete these, otherwise you end up with the same songs coming back again.. or worse, duplicates that don't get labeled as duplicates.
itunes is currently a bit of an inconsistent mess still. Hope it gets fixed with Yosemite. (I almost said that without laughing
