I tried resetting the NVRAM by pressing the option, command, P and R, keys. I got a dialog box stating four options. I chose disk utility, and went into repair disk, which was the Macingtosh internal hard drive. It came up saying that there was nothing wrong with the volume. So I restarted it, and got the forever spinning cog wheel again.
Another option was to re-install OS X. The other two options I forget.
What is the best thing I can do now ?
