Q: AirPort Extreme 802.11ac (A1521) iPhone Issue

Hey Everyone,

I purchased my new AirPort Extreme last week and I've been noticing the following problem with my iPhone 5 (iOS 6.1.4):

When connecting via WiFi to my AirPort Extreme 802.11ac (A1521) with firmware 7.7.1, it will eventually stop working after a while for no reason! The problem is that the WiFi signal is still shown as full bars, but with no connection or internet at all! To make it work again, I have to turn off the WiFi on my iPhone then turn it back on.

Is there somethign wrong with the AirPort or my iPhone or with both?!

Thanks everyone!

As wheeliekingposted earlier in this thread, setting the channel to a fixed value instead of auto worked for me. I now have a consistant connection from my iOS devices and my Macs. I also updated to 7.7.2, but it was the fixed channel value that resolved the issue for me.

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I'm having these issues as well. My iPhone constantly drops internet connection when I go down into my basement. My router is upstairs but my iPhone shows that I have 2 bars of signal. My brother-in-law's Galaxy S5 works perfectly downstairs. I'm going to try to set the channel to a fixed value to see if that works. I will also try the guest network.
