looks like another situation where you need access to a pc, which not every ipad user has.

You will need access to iTunes, using PC or Mac.

    Cheers,

I'm sorry if this sounds stupid but i was just wondering, is it true that you can delete purchased history back in ios 5? So, can we somehow downgrade the iPhone 5/iPad to ios 5 or something just to delete the hidden apps then upgrading it back to ios 7? Thank you.

Don't get why "Update All" insists on including apps not currently on the device. Isn't the simple answer just only to update installed apps? As it is, I have to re-delete them manually, and it's essential because I run our of memory if they are re-installed. All in all, this is a totally sick part of the iStore design.

How about adding an "update only installed" button?

After having switched to Android OS I thought I would give ios7 a look with the ipad mini. I too have this problem of wanting to delete old apps. Not sure what this has to do with accounting systems but I know that if there is something I try from the Google store that I want to delete permanently and not just uninstall from my phone all I have to do is is click on the X and poof, gone. Get with it Apple.

My point exactly. Apple use to be about "think different" now they want you to think the same. Be a sheep. As is said in my previous post. I have now sold my iphone 4s in exchange for an ipad mini. But that ipad mini used as a glorified ipod and archos video player. For serious office or personal work i use my Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014, where Google and Android allow me freedom to make the tablet my own.

Fix up Apple. We buy your hardware and WE Choose to download or not. You do not decide how and what we purchase. And how and what we keep in our history!

I find it extraordinary that the alleged 'it just works' iPad has use ability holes like this.  I suggest that everyone who posted here needs to send apple feedback as well, since they obviously don't read these forums themselves.

With people buying iPads instead of computers needing a separate computer to edit the iPad is witless.

I am having the problems that everyone had.  When I first got my first iphone, pre kids, I loved to play around and try and find "naughty apps, karma sutra, sex positions, etc."  No I have kids with ipads.  I have followed all the steps in here.  I "Hid" them on my computer.  I even deleted all apps from my computer.  I just bought daughter new ipad.  She went to purchased to move over games she played and sure enough, there were all the apps that I had "hid" in itunes on my computer.  Embarrasing.  Right now I am figuring that the only way to fix this is to start with a new "family" account, thus loosing hundreds of apps I already purchashed.  This *****!

Well, I have 'hidden' the dodgy apps but they are still visible. This is rather a mess.

There is a feedback page at http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html

    Apple don't read these forums.

You used to be able to swipe over an app in the purchased list and hit "remove"... This seems to be no longer the case.

You hide them via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919

If your device is on iOS 7 you might then need to log out and back into your account on the device for them to then be hidden from the Purchased tab in the App Store app on it - I needed to the last time I hid an app.

And if you don't have iTunes? Or anything but the tablet?
