Jan 3, 2014 5:54 PM in response to bretswan55by MichelPM,Looking at your Etrecheck output,
In additon to updating all of your software to Mavericks compatible versions, you need to update all of your web browser plugins. You have two versions of Adobe Flash Player. Update Flash Player to the most current version and eliminate the two older plugins. Also, Google Drive could be an issue for you on OS X Mavericks. There have been a lot of posted issues with Google Drive and OS X Mavericks. Check for updates for Google Drive.
Good Luck!

Jan 21, 2014 6:35 PM in response to natkatlby John Galt,Google Talk, Google Chrome, and Google anything seeks to infest itself in every corner of a Mac. Nothing else does that to such an extent as Google, and the code they write to do it is notoriously inefficient. If it weren't the "don't be evil" Google, anyone would consider such an intrusive thing a virus. Get rid of anything Google, or accept the performance degradation that will result from using your Mac to host Google's parasitic data-mining services.
User Internet Plug-ins:
npBcsMcTcIO: Version: (null) 3rd-Party support link
I have no idea what that is, and it appears to be something attempting to obscure its presence. Read Safari: Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
I suggest you get rid of it. To do that select the following line (triple-click to select the entire line), then control-click, and from the contextual menu select Services > Reveal:
~/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
Locate the file named npBcsMcTcIO.plugin and drag it to the Desktop. Quit Firefox or whatever browser you are using, then launch it again. Evaluate the results.

Correction: that should read Services > Open.

Jan 21, 2014 6:52 PM in response to John Galtby natkatl, thank you John! I will remove all "google" and rid my computer of the "unknown" plugin! many thanks again!
PS Is there any "efficient" way to find all google infestation files?
-
Jan 21, 2014 7:01 PM in response to natkatlby John Galt,I'd start with Google's uninstallation instructions. o1dbrowserplugin, googletalkbrowserplugin, and npgtpo3dautoplugin are all Google droppings. com.google.keystone.agent.plist is Google's automatic updater. There are other modifications present that I'm not familiar with.

Jan 21, 2014 7:26 PM in response to John Galtby natkatl,Thank you so much John! This solved my question. (I'm can't seem to find how to change my "?" into a green check mark for you. If you need the points, please let me know how and I will gladly do so!
