Jan 22, 2014 3:42 PM in response to JonnyK.by Snerpus,Hi Jonny, Thanks for the info. I'm having this problem with my interface (along with many others, obviously), and I want to try out your method. Has it continued to work these last few months? And if you don't mind, could you explain how you moved your install of Mavericks to your partition? I've already created the partition, I'm just trying to figure out how to move Mavericks over. Do I just install a separate copy and then boot to the partition when I start up, or is there a easier "drag-and-drop" sort of method where I can just move everything over? Sorry if these are dumb questions, I'm a Mac noob. Thank you for your help!

Jan 23, 2014 6:07 PM in response to smiz86by beyondal,No way in **** I'm touching my harddrives to make something work. I bought a product for way too much money.
To than tinker with it, to maybe get a solution.Apple has just have to speak with the big audio interface company's to find a solution. Simple
And they should pay more attention to these communities, and don't expect the community to get a solution.I normally just find a work around but not anymore. NOW they are going to get it fixed.

Jan 23, 2014 7:16 PM in response to smiz86by melsas,I have a brand new iMac (received it Tuesday), 3.5 i7, 3TB fusion drive, and 16 gig ram. 27inch.
Interface is Focusrite Pro 40. Using Logic X. Firewire 400 -> 800 adaptor -> Thunderbolt adaptor.
Had the problem mainly being discussed here: audio for brief periods, dropped; changing setting, say sample rate, brings back audio for only a few seconds. Audio quality -- when working -- is fine.
The 10.9.2 update (its availabe just search) fixed my problems, although some very small pops now occur, only a few times over a 2 hr period. I hope that problem will go away when beta testing is complete. But work can now be done. Have not testing recording as yet. Will have a session to test it out on Saturday, and if it does not perform as expected, I'll report back.
Good luck everyone!

Jan 24, 2014 12:35 PM in response to derKlecksby clamhead57,OK did the usb3 external carbon copy thing and so far my Saffire 24 pro dsp is working well. What ever works till they fix it, and I'm sure they will. I would complain about the expensive computer and it should just work etc., but most of us have been around the block a few times and we know how things go. For my money Applwe still rules. So there. BTW CC warned against WD HDD, but mine seems to booty just fine.

Jan 24, 2014 4:52 PM in response to clamhead57by Timbo1974,I also just bought the new iMac - 3.5 i7, 3TB fusion drive, and 16 gig ram. 27inch.
Am using a Quartet interface and am experiencing the same problems as mentioned in these threads. As far as I can see this has been a known issue since autumn 2012. This being the case I am gobsmacked that the trained apple 'music tec guy' in the apple store failed to know about it!
When asked what I intended to use the computer for I replied specifically for music production…
I have been miss sold a product here, not pleased at all.
Has anyone else fixed the problem with the 10.9.2 update? If so where can I find it?

Jan 24, 2014 5:56 PM in response to derKlecksby Wound79,I'm also having issues with this. Got my iMac on tuesday, 3.5 i7, 1tb fusion, 16gigs of ram, 27 inch and so on.
I use a line 6 POD X3 and logic pro x. While recording, after a few seconds, I hear a crackling noise then there is alot of latency. The latency only goes away after resetting sound input or turning on and off the POD itself. But comes straight back after a few seconds, after the same crackling noise. I wonder when the 10.9.2 will be released for public, and if it will help. Pretty much only got a week left to return this machine. I got this machine for recording music, as of now it's worthless for that purpose. Considering returning this and ordering one with an SSD, if it is the fusion drive that is causing these issues. I have a 2009 iMac running logic pro 9, no issues at all.

Jan 24, 2014 8:46 PM in response to Wound79by Fede DiLo,RETURN THE MACHINE... Apple have no answers. OS 10.9.2 works with some audio interfaces, but it's a game of chance... I spend $2,500, same as you, I suppose... they don't care about anything, they will take his time to fix it, no hurries... Now I understand why some companies who develop music software don't trust and don't even produce aything for them... good luck!

Jan 24, 2014 10:38 PM in response to Fede DiLoby Wound79,I did find the 10.9.2 beta last night and tried it. It seemed to fix my problem. I played andrecorded for about and hour or 2 without any issues. It seems to have solved my problem. looks like I might be keeping my machine

Jan 25, 2014 2:24 AM in response to derKlecksby tjeerdJ,Ok,
I got the same problems as described in this discussion.
Today I Called the Apple Care centre in Holand. They don't know anything of this problem. They told me to complain at the Audio Interface Manufactures. I tested USB and fire wire (TB) also with my TC Electronic Konnekt 8(FW/TB) and an Focusricte Scarlett 2i4(usb). All the problems as mentioned in this forum came around.
But the guy's from the store did not understand this problem. They were not very helpfull and even a little bit stupid. I told them about this threat, but they still... etc. etc.
I hope the next version of Mavericks will solve all this problems. it's ridiculous that they don't know and don't want to know about this problem. SHAME ON APPLE!!! (happy bithday by the way)
Thanks for all the kind of stuff on this pages. I will let you know when, and how, my problem will be solved.
Tjeerd.

Jan 25, 2014 2:23 PM in response to tjeerdJby melsas,This is the update I promised.
OK, while the update (2nd beta of 10.9.2) "worked" I can't record with out pops and clcks being added to the recording. One could mix already recorded material, ignore the pops. Virtual instruments seem to record better than real audio. Oh well.

Jan 25, 2014 5:16 PM in response to derKlecksby BonJamesBon,I downloaded 10.9.2, worked but created other issues.
I decided to return.
Applecare gave me a hard time for not being a developer and upgrading to the beta OS.
I gave them a hard time for not having a machine that worked.
They sent me a return shipping for the machine. Back to my MBP late 2008. Waiting for this mess to be settled before I make a $3k purchase again.
