Q: Does a mac need an Apple Airport router to connect to a wireless printer?
My new Brother printer is Airprint compatible but I have no idea how to connect the printer wirelessly to my mac. I do not have wireless internet or any other routers.
How do I enable airprint? (If that's what I have to do.)
Is a router necessary? (I have no wireless networks set up.)
How do I set up airprint on iphones/ipods?
Thanks!
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.4)

Yes, AirPrint requires a wireless network.
I recommend Apple AirPort wireless routers: http://www.apple.com/compare-wifi-models/
There is no particular setup or configuration required; it just works.
