Jan 26, 2014 12:37 PM in response to Gwenzieby turingtest2,It should have come in as part of the reinstall. You could try going into programs & features and running a repair on iTunes now, or reinstall, or uninstall and then reinstall. Offhand I don't have anything else to suggest.

Jan 26, 2014 12:57 PM in response to Stangboy06by turingtest2,Depending on the build of Windows you might need to press ctrl or shift when right-clicking. If your account is already an administrator then you might not need to worry.

Jan 26, 2014 2:16 PM in response to turingtest2by snakepga,I'm pulling my hair out here! 2 days working on this. I've tried the various sequences recommended 7 times. Used the Microsoft Fix it recommendation as well all to no avail.
Anyone else???

Jan 26, 2014 2:35 PM in response to snakepgaby turingtest2,I guess you've tried this then.... Using the slightly more detailed process outlined in HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. It may help to use safe mode if you find yourself unable to remove any of the folders recommended in the instructions.
Offhand I don't have any other suggestions, but I'll keep my eyes open for anything else that might help.

Jan 26, 2014 2:54 PM in response to turingtest2by RealChewbacca,Hi Turingtest2, it seems that you have solved most of the issues but, possibly because you can't know what folk are actually doing, it seems to me that iTunes really need to get their act together to sort this issue out as a changed update. I have had 40 contacts through my question alone and there must be other queries bringing out similar replies. I had the update arrive on my laptop tonight and yes it did not work and I got the same MSVCR80 message. I would have thought that the update would have been withdrawn but seemingly it has not. I will never trust an iTunes update again, especially if I have to spend so much time sorting out the problem. TT2, you deserve a massive payout from iTunes and if iTunes is reading this then please get your act together and test further updates before they become a virus.

Jan 26, 2014 3:02 PM in response to RealChewbaccaby GaryiPhone66,Well put RealChew and another big thanks to Turingtest2, you helped me and so many others. And, TT2, as you suggested, I submitted feedback to Apple Support about this issue in hopes that they would either correct the update or, at the least, stop sending it out, but I've yet to get any response.
TT2 thanks again!!
