Nov 30, 2013 7:37 AM in response to Itchy51by den.thed,Canon U.S.A say's that there are no new Drivers required for Mavericks.
Does Image Capture or Preview see the scanner..?

Nov 30, 2013 7:45 AM in response to den.thedby Itchy51,Neither Image Capture nor Preview see the scanner. If it's not supported in Mavericks, I suppose I'm looking at a new all-in-one (the MP530 is certainly dated---circa '05). Recommendations?

Jan 26, 2014 1:33 PM in response to Itchy51by Kevin Kerndt,After I upgraded to Mavricks I could print just fine and even over my network, but I couldn't scan using either image capture or twain in Photoshop.
To get it working, I downloaded the driver and scanning software MP Navigator 2.2 from Canon for Mountain Lion (10.8). Whew, I really like this printer/scanner and was not looking forward to replacing it since everthing else has been working fine.

Jan 27, 2014 5:27 AM in response to Kevin Kerndtby Itchy51,I tried downloading MP Nav 2.2.5 (latest version---covers through) 10.8). Does not seem to work with Mavericks (10.9).

Feb 6, 2014 6:41 AM in response to Itchy51by RichSim,For some reason, MP Nav version 2.0.7 does work with my PIXMA 500 on Mavericks (10.9.1). I read somewhere that the latest version of MP Nav wouldn't work, so I uninstalled it and installed that older version, and all is well. Hope this helps.

Feb 20, 2014 5:08 AM in response to Itchy51by kenj1,I can print on Mavericks using the earlier driver (as others have mentioned). However, the earlier MP Nav for scanning still did not work. Since I already have VMWare Fusion running on my iMac, I downloaded the latest MP Nav for Windows, pass thru the Printer, and voila! Scanning works fine. I know it's not "mac-pure" but it was the only choice I had. So, if you have Fusion (or another windows emulator) you may have similar success on scanning.

Feb 20, 2014 8:12 AM in response to Itchy51by giovanni4856,after reading these solutions i settled on downloading MPnav 2.2.4 and installing it. I t works but will not relaunch one you have restarted you computer or quit the program.
So leave it running. and keep an installer handy for re installation if need be.
Not very happy with whomever dropped the ball on this!!

May 18, 2014 12:44 PM in response to Itchy51by fleshkopter, after recently upgrading and finding this issue, i installed the lion drivers and version 2.2.5 of mp navigator now it works just like it used to in Snow Leopard. Not sure if it was the driver update or the MP Navigator or both. All I know is MP navigator 2.2.4 refused to stay open and a huge list of stuff popped up as to why. Rest assured this did the trick!
