Thing is in not getting any errors anymore, and no issues uninstalling anything. Just when I get done reinstalling iTunes. It doesn't respond.
Hmm, an old thread that might apply: https://discussions.apple.com/message/10977975#10977975

Jan 26, 2014 3:23 PM in response to chasm123by MTK2,I ran into that issue, too (I think I saw all the error messages and problems in this thread...LOL). The steps I outlined above FINALLY fixed it so it would work.

Jan 26, 2014 5:17 PM in response to turingtest2by Wild Bill 1,Turing Test 2 - Apple should hire you on the spot. This is a GREAT fix! Only thing that as other users commented, I could not uninstall the "Apple Mobile Device Support" option. Proceeded without being able to uninstall it, rebooted, and successfully installed iTunes 11.1.4 without any other issues. Also did not lose my iTunes Library. Thank You for taking the time to post a fix. I wish Apple would fix their stuff. While not nearly as messed up as Windows Updates, when Apple boofs it, they go really Big!

Jan 27, 2014 3:10 AM in response to Miztee7by whiskeycat,I too see this on two laptops, one is XP the other Win7. Both all up to date.
Why should we have to go to support to get an answer to strip everything apple from our machines and clean boot to reinstall an update to iTunes.
Apple needs to fix this quickly and not rely on people doing this. If everyone went to the apple stores around the world with this problem then they would seriously stand up and listen.
Perhaps stop thinking of building your new HQ and start building some basic quality into the software that is your foundation for survival.

Jan 27, 2014 9:30 AM in response to VAZER10by VAZER10,I'm in day 3 of this installation nightmare, i even tried installing an older version of Itunes, and i get the same error messages, very strange. This is the consistant error message i get in installation " Service ( Apple Mobile Device" Failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services ", if I ignore this error message and proceed, I wind up getting a host of other error messages. I have checked my Operating System ( Vista ) and it seems to be running fine.
I have tried every suggestion on here, one plus is I was able to get it installed on my Desktop computer, and its working fine.
At this point I can't figure out if its Apple or Microsoft, i should be pointing the finger at....

Jan 27, 2014 9:36 AM in response to VAZER10by kammitty,Anyone having problems or would like to be assisted with this issue should call Apple Support at 1-800-275-2273.
(it's free)
I just called, gave them permission to "Share" my screen, she walked me through it, took 30 min and everything is perfect again!
Yes, you wind up deleting a series of Adobe related items (mentioned in numerous posts here), but I felt a lot better with her "holding my hand" so to speak. I have many Adobe products, and when I first read about deleting Adobe things, I wasn't clear on whether that meant EVerything which would have been horrendous, but it's just iTunes items.
Support was awesome I must say! Do it. I hope it works out for you.

Jan 27, 2014 10:51 AM in response to Miztee7by Abraham Deeb,The instructions on the Apple’s support page are correct and as indicated by several posts here.
The instructions to fix the problem of iTunes 11.1.4.62 installation on Windows could be found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1926
The Point to emphasis is that all files related to iTunes or Apple must be deleted from the computer.
That’s to say, the temp files, program files, user files etc. in the C drives anywhere you see Apple, iTunes or Bonjour file or folder you must delete and start with a clean and fresh installation.
It’s all in the support page! read it well and Have fun!!

Do not delete the iTunes folder from <User's Music>
That would needlessly delete the user's iTunes library!

Jan 27, 2014 11:20 AM in response to turingtest2by Abraham Deeb,OK tt2 thanks for the correction. mine could have been misleading!!!
It should have readl: C/users(name)>appdata.... obviously not the the library in My Music.
Good work.
