Jan 4, 2014 12:38 PM in response to iGeekPhonePadby ymm424,Having read through this thread I followed what seems to be the logical course of action...stop saving your documents with/to iCloud. I just turned it off...now to try typing my pages document YET AGAIN! It keeps getting stalled and then wiped out entirely...hopefully this does it. I'll confirm later.

Jan 7, 2014 3:53 AM in response to GNIL1by Luacintilante,I just solved the issue, and I discover that after numbers start crashing. I create a folder on my mac inside the alias of icloud inside the folder of numbers documents. We can't do this, we have to create the folder in our device. Now its all working perfectely woth the most recent Pages and Numbers.

I've given up and am back to using Word on my PC. After two visits to the genius bar, I was told that I need to wait for an update that fixes the bug. Even if it does get fixed, I don't think I'll trust iCloud with any important docs. I lost several of them. Kinda wish the iPad had a USB port.
It is true that one should not trust iCloud with any important documents for now. I crashed it several times and lost several updates since the dreaded updates last autumn.
It would be interesting to know if Apple realises the number of Pages users currently in a hiatus, when we have to stop using the product for any serious work. When/if they stabilise the iOS version and reinstates lost functionality in the Desktop version, it will be interesting to see how many users will come back to the product.

Jan 22, 2014 9:54 AM in response to GNIL1by iGeekPhonePad,Repeated the solution again, just to be clear:
It is a directory issue with iCloud and IOS, not anything to do with the actual IOS applications. With the latest update the directories got screwed up (most find a duplicated and EMPTY folder). You MUST login to iCloud from a Mac to access the directory information. If you don't own a MAC, sign in as a guest on a buddy's, or go to the closest MAC outlet that will let you jump on one of theirs. Navigate to the iCloud directory using your iCloud account. Find the duplicated or other screwy folder (people have reported various issues, but a good scouring should detect the issue). Delete or otherwise fix (some people copied all their documents to local drive then back again) the issue, and save your changes. Logout of the guest account and it will automatically delete your personal iCloud information as part of the "Guest" account security. Open up iOS application making sure your iCloud settings are on, and you should be able to access your documents once again without Pages (or others) crashing. Some people are reporting performance issues only...that may just be a function of your model of iDevice. The olders ones barely run iOS7 and the new updates. Sorry to tell you, it may be time to upgrade, which is exactly what Apple intended!!!

Jan 22, 2014 3:36 PM in response to ymm424by ymm424,STILL NO LUCK! I'M REALLY HATING THIS PROGRAM....I've gone so far as to partition my drive with parallels so that I can count on a word processing program....
I tried going to my icloud pages folder to delete files as someone suggested but I really don't know why. I don't see any strange items there as someone else said.
Does ANYONE have a solution?

Mar 5, 2014 6:20 PM in response to GNIL1by ymm424,OK, well tons have time has passed and I can't wait for this to be corrected any longer. Clearly Apple isn't listening. Therefore, I've decided to use Office for Mac instead! Anything that has this much difficulty to use isn't worth using. I'm betting that I'm not the only person who has given up. Shame on you Apple! You will lose loyal customers.

Mar 6, 2014 1:03 AM in response to ymm424by GNIL1,Yes I totally agree.
I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Although I need to use it on the ipad and there isn't a version of word I can use. The app is more or less un Usable. The last update they have brought has made everything worse. Sometimes it takes ages for the app to even work. And I've lost count on how much work I have lost or had to do twice.
I'm taking it to apple to see if anyone there can help me out. If not I think I'll have to move over to a microsoft tablet. At least then I should be able to actually do some work without worrying a out losing it all the time and half the amount of time I spend creating a document.
I'll let u know if they come up with a solution.
Sort it out Apple. Please!!

Sep 26, 2015 9:57 AM in response to bjcaruanaby Sproute,I hear you. I've been a loyal MAC user, loved pages, keynote ... but note the past tense. Since they dummied down their apps, they took away the ability to be creative - one of the main reasons people loved Macs. Now it crashes all the time, you have way less design flexibility, and each month I get more and more frustrated saying 'time to return to PC'. Steve Jobs must be so frustrated watching from heaven as the thing he carved out a leadership role for, built a client base, is eroding faster than a sandcastle when the tide comes up. Rather than loving my mac, its now costing me time, money, and becoming less practical for work. So sad.
