That second Disc thing happens frequently, the best way around it is to do a Custom install, and eliminate enough Printer Drivers, Languages, Fonts, and Applications you don't need... then it may skip #2 altogether.

If the in sert Disc 2, hold alt or option key at bootup & select Disc 1 again.

Jan 27, 2014 4:14 PM in response to andries_abby BDAqua,When Booting up, hold Mouse button down to eject Disc 2 if needed, then at the same time hold alt or option key to get a chance to select disc 1 as the boot option.

Jan 27, 2014 4:29 PM in response to BDAquaby andries_ab,The disc is ot stuck. it keeps getting ejeced. I tried holding the ALT/OPTION key at start up and I get no option to select disc 1 as boot option.
Mind you I am doing this reinstall on a new hard drive

- Hold c key at boot
- Select Disk Utility from the top menu - after Language selection
- Erase disk
- Quit Disk Utility
- Do minimum install - examine every option to do this

In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
then try c key or alt key.
