Jan 27, 2014 8:00 PM in response to ariddelby pcbugfixer,★HelpfulG'day ariddel,
I presume you have used the instructions in this document ??
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Also Have you set your system "Folder and Search" options to show Hidden files, folders and drives ?
You are using "Programs and Features." to perform the uninstall(s) I trust ?
Also disabled your Internet Security / Anti-Virus while you are performing the outlined steps (disabled your Internet Security / Anti-Virus is Not needed in most cases) and remembering to reboot after each Step, i.e. after Step 1, then after Step 2, etc.
While trying to remove / delete any Folders, if you get any errors like fail messages, go into the folder and delete single files, continue to try and delete all files in the master folder ignoring subfolders.
- Then reboot and then try to delete the stubborn folder again and you will succeed deleting it this time.
- This should then complete step 2 and you reboot before continuing to Step 3.

Jan 27, 2014 3:00 PM in response to penelope184by rjmacpherson,I am sorry to hear that this didn't work for you.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate SP1
This is werid as I was having the exact same issue as you. I spent many hours thinking it was MS C++ Library issue. I reinstalled all versions of C++ runtimes and then tried the iTunes installation and I was seeing the same issue as you. Once I finally uninstalled all that was mentioned below via add/remove programs I didn't even reboot, I just tried the iTunes install and was suprised that it finally worked. I was even more shocked that it didn't hose my iTunes Library.
After trying many things I finally removed all Apple software
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support

Giving partyial advice is not a good idea !!
I suggest that penelope184 follows the outlines in,
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP\
or
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
in accord with penelopes184 Operating System
Besides you missed out on deleting the old folders that contain corrupted data files !!

Jan 27, 2014 3:20 PM in response to DetroitMikeManby pcbugfixer,The Playlist is not contained in any of the iTunes application software folders and as such is not uninstalled by performing the instructions.
The Playlist is in the "User Name" data / Document folder "My Music\iTunes" and remains there unlless you delete it !!

Jan 27, 2014 3:26 PM in response to Jacki03by pcbugfixer,G'day jacki03,
Sorry to tell you but you again have a corrupted installation of iTunes and you will need to start all over again with the uninstall instructions
Quick Time was not affected by the corrupted iTunes, however now that you have also performed the uninstall and reinstall of the Quick Time player, uninstall it for now and reinstall it after you have completed the corrections to iTunes.

"rjmacpherson " went to a lot of trouble with the installation correction of the MS C++ Library issues which may have been unnecessary if the original instructions had been followed correctly in my opinion (we are all entitled to our opinions - The Devil made me say that) !!

Jan 27, 2014 3:43 PM in response to pcbugfixerby Jacki03,Thanks, I am going to uninstall both now.
I am wondering, earlier when I had only reinstalled Itunes, it said: Apple Application Support was not found.
I then installed quicktime. I have a feeling the same thing will happen. Is there anything else I have to install along with itunes?
