Q: Running Vista on old HP computer. New version of iTunes was available to download so I did. Now iTunes won't start and says it is missing MSVCR80.dll file. Any helpful information on how to fix this will be appreciated. Have uninstalled and installed.
Got advised that a new version of iTunes was available for my HP PC running Vista. Upon downloading, wouldn't launch. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Wouldn't launch. Both error messages said that a file named MSVCR80.dll was missing. Any help in correcting this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I also posted this question and then Googled it. The instruction was to delete, in order iTunes, Apple Software Update, Apple Mobile Device Support, Bonjour, Apple Application Support and iCloud. Uninstall worked for all but apple Mobile Dvice Support and i Cloud. However, when I reloaded iTunes, it worked fine. I hope this is helpful. RobinVista
