Jan 28, 2014 1:35 AM in response to UK Accountantby Giuliano Gavazzi,Well, for instance if you join the iOS dev or Mac Dev programmes you pay irish VAT, and I doubt a software development programme can carry a condition of only personal use... I have been trying to get VAT refunded from Apple already once many year ago, but they do not seem to know how to do things properly. I think this is unlawful behaviour as rules about VAT payments are quite clear and not open to arbitrary interpretations. I wonder if they get away with it as it means more money for the Revenue Commissioners (the equivalent of the Inland Revenue in Ireland).

Jan 28, 2014 3:27 AM in response to Ei Kukaanby Giuliano Gavazzi,I did that myself once, but this should not be the way. It should just be that you get the correct amount in the first place. Of course you have to find a way to make you VAT registration details to stick with your Apple ID account.

Nov 17, 2014 2:55 PM in response to wegrasby John.G.A.G,If you are registered for VAT and charge VAT, you are obliged to provide a VAT receipt by law.
In the UK it is illegal to include a clause to remove a legal obligation, such as above.
that's to stop companies etc. taking advantage.
Whilst Apple might not be helpful, I doubt they would as foolish as to straightforwardly deny their legal obligations. at the point thinly question would be whether they had broken all the contract or part of it...
