I really hope is solveable, because my ipad 3 was working BEFORE Os7 update,,,
So is definitively a SW problem. Is really UNBELIVABLE that a SW update (a LEGITIMATE ONE) can damage an ipad at this level.

Jan 28, 2014 11:04 AM in response to kennethyoungby franzfume,An Apple dealer has asked me for 350 euros just to swap my ipad. Broked by a sw update!
Maybe can be a "self destroyng programmed" behaviour?
It happen just in some "old" device of course alredy out of warranty.
And Apple solution is a "payed" swap.

Jan 28, 2014 5:08 PM in response to kennethyoungby reigoc,Hi Kennethyoung,
I have an iPad 3 (30 pin model) and also tried everything on this thread with no luck, here is a link to my iPad Updater Logs. I hope there is a solution soon, I called apple and since I am out of warranty they said it would cost $300 for a replacement.

Jan 29, 2014 2:52 AM in response to johncali9by taskytoy,I have 2 iphone 5. one stuck on error 3.. the other one is error 2001.. happened just after I update to ios 7..
I think there are problems with some of the unit sold by aple and they are afraid to recall those units as it maybe a big impact on their sales or maybe they are in financial decline that is why they want us to pay for the replacement. just my thought as no one in their upport seems to help us for free.

Jan 29, 2014 6:48 AM in response to taskytoyby kennethyoung,Hi Taskytoy,
Can you please send me the log files located as described below please that showed the Error (3) issue?
The log files I am looking for is in the following location on your Mac;
~/Library/Logs/iPad Updater Logs (if your Error 3 was on an iPad)
~/Library/Logs/iPhone Updater Logs (if your Error 3 was on an iPhone)
(I'm not sure exactly where the equivalent location is on a PC. Perhaps a PC person can share this info).
There may be a number of files within that folder. Best thing is to "Zip/Compress" up the entire folder and post a link here to an online folder that can be accessed, such as DropBox or Gdrive.
To Zip/Compress the folder, select the folder name and then right click/two finger click to bring up a pop up menu. About halfway down you will see "Compress iPad/iPhone Updater Logs". Select and follow instructions.
Use the "Insert Link" icon in the "Add Reply" editor to add a link to the external source where you saved this file.
Alternately you can cut and paste the log file in a new Reply in this thread.
Thanks!

Jan 31, 2014 7:03 AM in response to johncali9by jmliva,Same story here. 4S cell signal stuck in 'Searching..'. mode. Tried upgrade to iOS7 and got Error3 (see some logging entries below). Made an appointment with Genius Bar and was told most likely the logic board is bad and recommended to replace for $199. Went home, tried freezer method with no luck. Don't believe I can try downgrading to iOS 6 since I didn't write down original serial number. So the plan is to go back this weekend for a replacement.
The funny thing is that even though I only had this phone for less than a year, yet it's out of factory warranty since it is a replacement *itself* due to faulty hardware from the original phone. I was told warranty for replacement phones are 3 months only. So basically, you get punished for being sold a faulty phone at the first place. Apple store agrees the logic doesn't make sense but there is nothing they can do.

Jan 31, 2014 8:09 AM in response to jmlivaby kennethyoung,Hi jmliva
You appear to have a unit that cold temp alone may not work around this issue. However as a last shot you might want to try leaving the 4s in the freezer while you start the Restore process. This has worked for some devices that failed to Restore after being pulled out of the freezer and then Restore attempted. This is because the Flash cells warm up very quickly and even a few degrees can make the difference in a Error (3) vs a successful Restore. You do need to be able to get your computer next to the freezer to try this which is easy with a laptop but not so much with a desktop.
