Q: iTunes install

When i try to install iTunes as a download from Apple, the install runs and looks as if it will be OK.  Then it states "starting services".  It starts to do this, then stops with this message:  Service 'Apple Mobile Device'(Apple Mobile Device) failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.  Then it gives me the option to Abort, Retry, or Ignore.  Retry and Ignore takes me through the whole process again, only to end up the same way.  Any idea what this means, and how I can verify I have this privilege?
