Jan 24, 2014 9:35 AM in response to ovelez25by AmishCake,What you all really need to do is register your number at donotcall.gov. I still get a few calls here and there but not many at all. It's worth your time.

Jan 30, 2014 3:03 AM in response to AmishCakeby aftonandpaul,★HelpfulHow hard can it be to have the iPhone in-built Phone app evaluate the incoming call and if the caller ID is absent then the call is terminated? Surely thats an easy option to add to Phone Settings??

Only Apple's software engineers could answer that. They are neither reading nor posting here.

Feb 4, 2014 7:35 AM in response to ovelez25by Ronj218,Download a free app called Trap Call on your iphone. Is NOT FREE it costs $4.95 a month

Feb 4, 2014 10:49 AM in response to Ronj218by Meg St._Clair,Trap Call's decription does not indicate that it blocks calls of any kind. It says what it does is strip away the block. The instructions indicate you have to decline the call first. You can decline calls without paying anything. It only appears to be useful if you want to find out who is behind the blocked number. I could seem some utility in that but, if all I want to do is block unknown callers, this app isn't it.

Feb 12, 2014 12:36 PM in response to ovelez25by Sylvia129,My elderly mother in Florida is being harassed, and I can't find any iPhone apps that will block all incoming unknown/private/restricted numbers. I have found two Android apps and may have to get her an Android phone:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.greythinker.punchbacknondroid& hl=en
"Black list... Also block UNKNOWN, PRIVATE or other restricted numbers"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wahooka.advanced.call.blocker. professional
"Fully customizable Filters allow you to:
• Block unknown and private (restricted) numbers" -
Feb 23, 2014 3:25 AM in response to ovelez25by Tom423,★HelpfulGo to recent calls, then info on that call. Use the copy feature on "Unknown Caller". Then go to Contacts, touch + to add a new contact. Use the paste feature for the following: first name, last name, company, phone number. Touch done and you will see an option to block caller. Then in Settings you can go to your Phone, Blocked, and you should see it listed alphabetically with any others you may have. I have an iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.6. Good luck

Feb 23, 2014 5:29 AM in response to Tom423by Mom24monsters,Nope, this didn't work on my iPhone 5S with IOS 7.0.6. The only good thing about TrapCall is, once the block is stripped away, you should be able to block the caller, but I don't think that people should have to pay the monthly fee to CallTrap to make it work. For Android phones, there's Mr. Number, and though it doesn't completely block calls, it does allow you to add numbers to the database, and it will pick up and hang up on callers. It does all of that for free, for those who don't have an android that automatically blocks callers, like the older ones! Even if we could have the iPhone do that, it would be better than nothing.

Feb 23, 2014 6:34 AM in response to ovelez25by Ronj218,I agree if the IPhone knows enough (smart phone) to trigger unknown caller then it should be easy to block that caller like the old basic language [if-then-else] So what I am saying if the phone comes up as unknown caller then the phone hangs up. It seems to me that someone out there can make an app to do that. I wish I knew how to program an app I would do it and make it availiable for 99 cents I'd be a lot richer.

Feb 23, 2014 6:54 AM in response to Tom423by Ronj218,I don't know what phone or what os Tom423 is using but when I touch info on that call (unknown caller) ther is nothing there is no first name, last name, company, phone number. Hence unknown caller. WELL I SHOULD SAY what the phone says which is No Caller ID unknown if I touch the i for info all I get is: No Caller ID the date the time that's it. SO I guess I have to rephrase in stead of unknown caller NO CALLER ID . So I 'm sorry for misleading you, I appologize. unknown caller the only thing I have is a number but that wouild be good only for that number not all unknown callers you'd have to do that for each one. SO now that that is cleared up let me ask about NO CALLER ID block that I guess that's a whole new ballgame. NO CALLER ID and UNKNOWN CALLER are two different things.

This works !!!
Been getting "No Caller ID" ..
Copy this from the recent calls by holding your finger down on the text after going into the button.
Then create a new contact.
- First Name: No Caller ID
- Last Name: No Caller ID
- Company: No Caller ID
- Phone Number (home): NoCallerID
I also removed trailing spaces from the "No Caller ID" string.

Mar 7, 2014 6:35 AM in response to markies21by Ronj218,ok This is what I did if this is what you are saying unfortunately they just called before I got a chance to do this. I was right in the middle of doing this ****. I appologize I didn't quite get what you were saying because of the way I thought. I didn't know you could put letters in there. I hope this works but I won't know for another month, they seem to call every month, this time they said they would call every 6 months (yeah right)
