- Launch the AirPort Base Station Agent from C:\\Program Files\AirPort\

Jan 30, 2014 12:30 PM in response to Charlie1819by Tesserax,Two things:
- Which exact version of Windows are you running?
- Be sure that both the AirPort's base station name and the name of the shared volume does not include any spaces.

Jan 30, 2014 12:31 PM in response to Charlie1819by Axeman1020,1. Try uninstalling the Airport Utility, reboot and reinstall.
2. Did you setup users for the drive in the Airport Utility?
3. Are you sure that is the IP address? You can use the Airport Utility on the Mac to verify the IP address.
Does it show up in Network?

1. Windows xp Professional V5.1
2. Name of Airport Extreme: Charles' Airport Extreme
Axeman 1020
1. Ok, I'll try
2. No
3. I've found two different IP Addresses: A LAN IP Address = 10.0.1.1 and also an IP Address = 82.38.211.229
I don't think so, but I'm trying to access it on Windows

Jan 30, 2014 2:12 PM in response to Charlie1819by Axeman1020,10.0.1.1 is the one you want.
By Network I mean in Windows.
Go to Network Places (I think that is what XP calls it).
If the Airport is listed open it and see if the drive is listed.

Jan 30, 2014 3:16 PM in response to Charlie1819by Axeman1020,Just a couple of thoughts.
Airport USB disk sharing requires Windows Xp SP3 or later. Do you have Service Pack 3 installed?
What kind of disk security do you have set?
Account, device password or disk password?
It is probably simplest to set a disk password so that it is the same for both Mac & PC access.

Jan 30, 2014 6:08 PM in response to Charlie1819by Bob Timmons,Name of Airport Extreme: Charles' Airport Extreme
There is virtually no chance that Windows will work with this.
The name needs to be short.....no more than 20 characters
No blank spaces....as Tesserax has already mentioned
No special characters in the name....like an apostrophe
airportextreme
Might have a chance

Jan 30, 2014 7:05 PM in response to Bob Timmonsby Axeman1020,For what it is worth, I have a Time Capsule.
It is named "Axeman's Airport Time Capsule" and it shows up in Windows just fine.
Of course, it is a Time Capsule and not an AirPort Extreme and I am running Windows 7 not XP.

Ok, especially for Windows XP, you will need to shorten that and remove any special characters and the spaces. Use something like CharlesAE. Again same thing for the disk volume name that you are going to share.
