You say to it's always best to backup first - however when I had this issue I don't think I had a way to backup?
So speaking of that - how do I backup my entire library anyway?

Fortunately I found your support help, I followed your instructions exactly, they were very clear, and it restored my i tunes to perfect health and all my music and playlists are just the way they were before I did the new update. You are a genius!

Jan 31, 2014 11:01 AM in response to gina575by turingtest2,You can try repairing Apple Mobile Device Support, and the see if you can subsequently remove it, of you can ignore the failure and move to the next step.

Jan 31, 2014 6:54 PM in response to royal09by turingtest2,It shouldn't matter too much, particularly if you are going to delete the suggested folders as well. The recommended order should reduce the risk of additional error messages and confirmation dialogs on the way.
