Feb 1, 2014 12:29 AM in response to CrisH013by pcbugfixer,G'day CrisHO13,
Yes it is part of the foul-up and how to fix it is also covered in the original documentation.
turingtest 2 on page 9 of this topic in his post said this,
"For device connectivity issues following the repair see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5."
Just follow the instructions in the hyperlinked document.
I know it will fix it on any Operating system, as I follow the same procedure when the iPhone or iPod are not recognized. You only need to do this once as for the second time when you connect the device iTunes wil recognize it.
Have fun and be nice to your Mother-In-Law

Feb 1, 2014 12:41 AM in response to rjmacphersonby feliperye,Hi, this worked for me on Jan 31st 2014, in the order you mentioned:
- iTunes
- Apple Software Update
- Apple Mobile Device Support
- Bonjour
- Apple Application Support
I'd like to add, for people that will give this a go, that Apple Application Support is not on the Control Panel uninstall list - it's actually in Program Files - Common Files - Apple - Apple Application Support, and you just need to find the most recent version and uninstall it.
Cheers, everyone
Felipe

Feb 1, 2014 6:09 AM in response to penelope184by Skiergirl14,By uninstalling all Apple programs on my computer, will I loose my playlists in iTunes? I believe the last time I had to uninstall, I lost my playlist. I have many, and it will take a lot of time to recreate.

This post prompted me to check and see if iTunes could connect via USB to my iPad and iPhone. There was no problem. However, so far, the "Sync with this (iPhone or iPad) over Wi-Fi hasn't worked. What is the solution for that?

Feb 1, 2014 11:39 AM in response to jehill39by jehill39,I spoke too soon. Both my iPad and iPhone are syncing fine over Wi-Fi now.

Feb 1, 2014 12:31 PM in response to pcbugfixerby Dlein,I have tried every suggestion re MSVCR80.dll. Including dowloading and putting in the system file a new MSVCR80.dll file. Gone through all the deletes etc and reinstalls - yes everything reinstalls but when trying to go o the itunes store it still comes up with the 0x80090318 error and will not link to the store. I have spent days on this and to be honest all faith in apple has gone. The latest up date has done this and it is their responsibility to issue a fix. Why have they not done this? I just give up and will move to Samsung galaxy.
-
Feb 1, 2014 12:53 PM in response to Dleinby turingtest2,There are multiple versions of MSVCR80.dll. Each build of iTunes should be connected to the one it expects to find., stored in the correct place. Downloading a copy at random and putting it somewhere that iTunes can see it is unlikely to work completely satisfactorily.
Would you please select the text below and copy with CTRL+C
C:\WINDOWS\winsxs\x86_Microsoft.VC80.CRT_1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b_8.0.50727.6195_x-ww_44 262b86
then press Windows Logo Key + R, then press CTRL+V to paste, and then click OK or press return.
You should either get a folder not found error, or the folder should open. If the folder opens you should see the following files with the relevant versions.
Using Control Panel > Programs and Features to repair Apple Application Support ought to reinstall the correct version of the library.

After days of the same old thing, I tried out feliperye's suggestion to go into the programs files and delete the Apple Applications Services folder. I was afraid that there might be something important in that folder that might need to be kept, so I moved the folder to my desktop and renamed it "AAS," just in case. I used the iTunes installer and, voila! it installed with no problems and when I restarted my computer I got no "msvcr80.dll" error messages and no "icutd46.dll" error messages, either. Thanks so much, Felipe! You da man! (My wife says so, too!) It's funny, though: in the old Apple Applications Services Folder that I renamed "AAS," there is a file called "icutd46.dll." My machine wasn't recognizing it for three days. What's up with that?
P.S. On my system, the correct Apple folder was in Common Files under "Program Files(x86)."

Feb 1, 2014 2:44 PM in response to penelope184by brusk21483,I had this same issue and followed the instructions in this article:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/msvcr80-dll-not-found-missing -error.htm
It was pretty quick, and completely fixed the issue.
