Feb 2, 2014 5:41 AM in response to dominic23by markmc78,That's not what I'm saying.
Let's say I'm at home, on my own wifi, and I shut my MacBook Pro's lid, with Power Nap on battery enabled.
Every hour it'll check for emails, update calendars, etc. Fine.
Let's say I go over to my mum's house, with the Mac, but leave it shut over. What I'm saying is will it still check for emails, etc, every hour at my mum's house, without ever opening? i.e. will it join her wifi when I get there?

Feb 2, 2014 5:51 AM in response to markmc78by clintonfrombirmingham,No - the computer doesn't magically join other networks. You'll have to open the machine and select your parent's WiFi network in order to connect.

Feb 2, 2014 5:54 AM in response to clintonfrombirminghamby markmc78,Even if my Mac has previously been connected to their network?
If that's the case, Power Nap on battery isn't very useful

Feb 2, 2014 5:57 AM in response to markmc78by clintonfrombirmingham,You'll still have to select the network -> even if you've connected to it previously. As I wrote, your computer can't magically select a network to use. You can open it once, select the network and lest Power Nap do it's thing.
Sorry,

Feb 2, 2014 5:58 AM in response to clintonfrombirminghamby markmc78,Why would it have to be "magically"? If it can check emails, update contacts, etc, whilst in Sleep mode, why not auto-switch wifi networks to previously-known networks?
If I have to open the machine, it defeats the point of power nap.
Thanks
