Hmm, now my entire iTunes library is empty/gone/missing, and the importing isn't working at all.
In iTunes, I do this: File > Library > Import Playlist > Select "iTunes Library.xml" (or "iTunes Music Library.xml") from Desktop > Open
But after I select the .xml, nothing happens. No files appear in iTunes at all. Any help?

Strange... Just some shots:
1) Did you follow 1 to 4 steps?
2) Where did you get this "iTunes Music Library.xml" file? You should have only 2 .itdb, 1 .itl and 1 .xml at >iTunes folder (and, of course, ALbum Artwork and iTunes Media folders).
3) On iTunes lateral bar (Visualize > Show lateral bar) select 'Music' on 'Library'. Then go to Files > Library > Import List.
4) Try to put all files back and retry.

Yes, I followed the four steps. But now, EVERY TIME I open iTunes, all the files (.itdb, .itl, .xml, Album Artwork, etc.) pop up on my desktop. If I delete them, they just recreate themselves and pop up again once I open iTunes again. And if I try to import the .xml file on my desktop as a new library, nothing happens and my Itunes remains empty.
