Q: Upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and now it won't recognize my iPhone

Doesn't work for me. When I get to the last part, it states there are no drivers in the file I selected.

This is getting ridiculous. Crappy software that Apple has been putting out.

I had the same problem.

Latest iTunes, new iPhone 5s.

No contact between the two.

I followed every link I could find reinstalling software etc with no result.

I then found (by accident) an unbelievably simple and effective solution:

When you get the "Cannot connect to this iPhone" error - disconnect the cable, TURN IT OVER and reconnect.

I have no idea why this works but it does.

My connector now has a mark to show which side is "up".

Please Apple - put the logo back on the leads!

I don't know how the **** you found that out but I tried it and thank you so much cause it worked! I was about to return all my apple products and never walk in that store again. You should  be rewarded

If you go to control panel and click on the Apple Mobile Device Service thing, just click repair and it should fix it. Worked for me and you won't have to uninstall iTunes or anything
