This article says that, if your iPod nano's display shows a white screen, to put the iPod into disk mode and restore using iTunes:
- Try putting the iPod into disk mode:
- While the device is in disk mode, sync it to iTunes and try to restore.
Even though that article is for the 6th gen, the steps should still apply to yours. To put the iPod into disk mode, follow these steps:
- Before placing the iPod into Disk Mode, verify that it has a charge.
- Reset the device by pressing the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until the display shows the Apple logo. This should take about eight seconds.
- When the Apple logo appears, press and hold the Volume Down and Volume Up buttons simultaneously until the device enters Disk Mode.
Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
Take care,
Delgadoh
