Jan 31, 2014 8:00 AM in response to boater102by sterling r,Hello Boater102,
It sounds like you are unable to open iTunes due to this error message. I recommend the troubleshooting from the following article named:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
- "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes. Error 7 (Windows Error 126)”
- "Runtime Error: R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly"
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
Check for .dll files
- Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
- If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
- Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
- Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
- Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
- Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,
Sterling

Jan 31, 2014 2:07 PM in response to sterling rby boater102,Thank you for what I hoped would solve the problem. But after several hours and several attempts to reinstall itunes, the message is now as follows:
"itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall. Error 7 (Windows error 126).
Had also seen again in another screen the "MSVCR 80.dll is missing. Try reinstalling program to fix."
However, no matter where I've googled, I've been unable to find how one reinstalls it.
If you have any other ideas, please let me know.

Jan 31, 2014 2:49 PM in response to sterling rby boater102,Sterling: I took all the actions in the articles (moved the .dll files, etc.), shut down, rebooted, uninstalled, tried to reinstall, etc.. Didn't work the first time, so I returned to a printout of the directions, and went back through again to try and insure I'd done everything.
Then I got the new message re Error 7/Windows 126.
Searched on web to reinstall MSVCR80.DLL, which is listed as MIA, etc.

Some other help from MS to possibly help.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306160
- http: Obtain the original installation source. For example, if you installed the .NET Framework from a CD-ROM or from a DVD, insert that disc. If you downloaded the .NET Framework , download the .NET Framework again. Make sure that you clicksave to disk. If you installed the .NET Framework from a network share, reconnect to that share.
- Click Start, click Run, type the following command, and then click OK:N:\dotnetframework\dotnetfx.exe /t:c:\temp /c:"msiexec.exe /i c:\temp\netfx.msi REINSTALL=ALL ReinstallMODE=vomus"Note Replace N:\ in this command syntax with the original installation path.
Important If you do not have a C:\temp folder on your computer, create one before you run this command.
The Microsoft Windows Installer will verify and repair the .NET Framework installation.
