In general, the voltage in the us , say 120v draws XX, in the the UK which is 220v would be about half the current.
This is simplifing things, but it is close. twice the voltage=1/2 current
Hope this is helpful

Feb 4, 2014 3:07 PM in response to daveaxemanby Eustace Mendis, watts = amps x volts.
For a 80 watt charger, the maximum current it can draw when plugged into a 240 V outlet is 80/240 amps. i.e. about 330 miliamps.

Feb 4, 2014 3:23 PM in response to Eustace Mendisby sanjampet,I gave him the math, in the simplest possible way.
I have done this ALL OVER the world, never killed anyone and never wrecked equipment, so I guess I don't have a clue.
The numbers were there were there, if that person can't read... not my problem.
I'm out

Feb 4, 2014 3:29 PM in response to daveaxemanby Ralph Landry1,Maximum current draw is 4.25-4.6 amps.
-
Feb 4, 2014 3:35 PM in response to Ralph Landry1by Eustace Mendis,At 240 volts, that would be > 1000 watts.

Feb 4, 2014 3:45 PM in response to Eustace Mendisby Ralph Landry1,But that is the maximum current the MagSafe can draw, so it will have to be less, especially at the UK voltage.

Jul 5, 2015 9:41 AM in response to daveaxemanby TheoBGibbs,Ok, UK. Whatever don't know your **** power grid out there, but in the USA it draws One Half Of One Amp. (.5 Amps)
Still kind of a lot if you ask me, I will keep my mac plugged in less knowing that now.
