I really can't say it any clearer: when I press Shift-Tab to decrease the indent level (for example in an outline-style list), it is not decreasing the indent level.

This is for Pages 5.1/Mavericks 10.9.1

This used to work in iWork '09 but I just tried it in Pages '09 and I get a error beep.

The only thing I can think of is that there is some accessibility or other command that is overriding this but I can't figure out what.

Any ideas?

It is working for me. I tried Numbered, Letter and Harvard lists.

The only place it doesn't work is in tables where it jumps cells.

What do you actually mean by "Outline style list"?

    No.

command ] is right align text

command [ is left align text

Sorry me without my glasses and not thinking as I automatically add shift with muscle memory.

    You are right.

btw command [ and ] are working for me as well.

Where abouts is the problem occurring?

I have tried it in regular text and in tables in Pages 5.1.

Have you any 3rd party software that could be cutting in?

Only you know what you have installed on your Mac.

    In Pages 5.1

Menu > Pages > Preferences > General > Editing > Automatically detect lists
