Q: Trust this Computer?

I installed iOS 7 this morning, and now with every restart of my iPad - if it is plugged into my iMac - I am asked "Trust This Computer?" I restarted 3 times, and was asked each time. Is this something that we will see every time we sync our tablets and phones?

    This solved it for me.  Windows 8.1, iOS 7.0.4, iTunes 11.1.4.62, iPhone 5 and iPad 2.  Thanks!

    I just updated to iTunes 11.1.4.62. After a reboot iTunes would not recognize my iPad and kept asking to "Trust This Computer". I tried a lot of things nothing worked. Finally reading this post I saw one person doing the same thing: Go to Device manager (Windows) and delete my iPad. Plugged it back in and it recognized it immediately.

    Fixed the issue.

    ( Windows 8.1)

     

    Go to Devices and Printers --> Update usb driver

    This did the trick (I did go with automatically update from web)

     

    Side note: i think im sure plugging the device into multiple PCs may have triggered the issue.

     

    I had plugged in my phone into another computer at work to charge.

    That started the trust prompt - didnt think much as i was plugging into that pc for first time but when i was back at my usual pc - problem would not go away and device would not show up!

    I was having the same issue.

     

    I have Windows 8.1, an iPhone 4 (running IOS 7.0.4), and iTunes 11.1.4. I would plug the iPhone into my computer and it would say charging, I could find it under "File Explorer", and yet was not showing up in iTunes. I would tap "Trust" on my iPhone, but that did nothing. This was what finally resolved the issue for me:http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1567

     

    It has directions on how to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service. That was all I had to do to have my iPhone show up/respond to iTunes and to have the "Trust" prompt disappear.

    I can't believe this thread is still going strong, and people are still suggesting "fixes", thanking each other for them one day, and then saying, "oh, but it doesn't work" the next. The problem is SIMPLE. It is a POOR DESIGN feature of iOS 7 ...

     

    PLUG your iPhone/iPad into the USB of your "trusted" PC while Windows is RUNNING, and you WON'T get the "trust me" message.

     

    PLUG your iPhone/iPad into the USB of your "trusted" PC BEFORE Windows has booted up, or LEAVE PLUGGED IN while Windows reboots after (say) Windows Update - and you WILL get the "trust me" message when the USB port power-cycles.

     

    The TRUST ME message can ONLY be suppressed on a PC that is running iTunes (or possibly other Apple driver software) AT THE TIME YOU PLUG IN.

     

    If your PC is NOT running the Apple software at the moment you connect - YOU WILL GET THE MESSAGE.

     

    APPLE - ALL WE WANT IS THE OPTION TO TURN OFF THIS SO-CALLED "PROTECTION" FEATURE ON OUR IOS DEVICES.

    biowizard, 

    The point is simple without the the trust feature all it would take is a cable and a few minutes to be able to get all info off someones phone.
