Jan 22, 2014 8:34 PM in response to Randy Rannalsby lestudio,My phone is 3 weeks old. 5S. was restored from a backup. I am getting Random Reboots. They happen 4 or 5 times a day and 99% of the time while using touch ID to open the devise. They are short but inconvenient. They seem to be happening more often as time goes on.
I am disliking ios7 more because of this. After using an unlocked iphone 4 since before its release in the USA presently on ios 6 I am wondering why I bought another. I miss the readability of the ios6 look all though some of the functionality of ios7 I really like.
Whats going on apple?

Jan 24, 2014 6:00 AM in response to Mustafa Dayastiby Brando Braganza,Hello Mustafa. Is your phone on 7.0.4? I remember having the camera / video crashes or hangs during 7.0.1 version.
Car kit? What brand? I'm assuming the one you are using with your 3gs is not the one you are using for your 5s.
No signal? Try turning off your LTE data, it could be your provider.
In any case, try restoring your phone with a new downloaded copy of 7.0.4 with no backup. Or you should return yours at Apple Store for support. ;-)

For me, it's only a mild annoyance occuring maybe once a month. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Feb 6, 2014 12:02 PM in response to Randy Rannalsby theterrier,Yes after speaking with 3 different representatives from Apple, having to explain my issues each time and then having to repeat myself they cannot fix the issue. I told them about the 7.1 fix coming and they were happy to let me wait for it. Not really happy but my next phone will NOT be an iphone grrrr

Feb 7, 2014 12:13 AM in response to frsa1984by woody46,Curiously, my 5s seems to have stopped re-booting itself !!
Initially I had turned the touch ID off which seemed to stop it, then I turned Reduce Motion off and Touch ID back on, this appeared to reduce the frequency of re-booting, but now it's only done it once in the past few weeks.
I've never done an "as new" restore and I'm on the 7.05 s'ware.

Feb 7, 2014 8:36 AM in response to Randy Rannalsby lestudio,I turned off touch iD and the problem went away. a few days later I turned touch ID back on and the random reboots started again. I went to a genius bar. They insisted it was a hardware issue and as the phone was still returnable they did a refund and replacement for a whole new phone and applecare.
This phone worked great, the finger print sensor worked so fast and accurately I could not believe it.
the next day I was back at the apple store getting a newscreen protector and the phone did a random reboot. Since then the phone has been doing 3 or 4 a day. I now have the touch ID turned off again. Guess I will go and get another phone. As this phone came from a different store I assume it was a different batch. I don't have much faith in this being a hardware issue.
Apple get a move on and fix this.

Feb 7, 2014 1:15 PM in response to Randy Rannalsby Desert_3agle,I've been having MANY crashes which sound just like what you describe at least 50% of the time after i:
1. Updated to 7.0.3
2. Unlock iPhone 5s using touch ID
I never had any crashes/apple logo/restart when on 7.0.0 or 7.0.2. Once I updated to 7.0.3 I started having "springboard" crashes at least 50% of the time. I did not alter the system at all between the OS updates.
Apple has replaced my phone once, but as soon as I updated to 7.0.3 the same problem raised it's ugly head. Often when I unlock my iPhone via the TouchID, the screen goes white and the apple logo appears until the
system "reboots".
If I turn off the fingerprint/touchID unlocking all the crashes stop.
Upon seeing a comment on this happening on MacRumors when Reduce motion is turned on I did my own little experiment.
If Reduce motion is turned on, Springboard/crashes to Apple logo occurs at least 50% of the time with 7.0.3.
If Reduce motion is turned off, I have yet to have a single crash upon unlocking via touchID. I have tried this nearly 80 times at this point.
Whether this is relevant to your situation I don't know, but I'm happy with leaving Reduce motion off as I don't have any issue with parallax, motion, animation that some others have experienced.
It may not be the answer for all, but try this "solution"; I'd be interested in knowing if their is any consistency to the finding.
After turning off Reduce motion I have not had a single reboot upon unlocking via TouchID.
iphone 5s
7.0.0, 7.0.2, 7.0.3
restored as new with each OS update, completely default/OEM baseline
regardless of apps loaded, only the "Accessibliltiy/Reduce motion" setting has given any change in crash pattern.Good luck!

Feb 26, 2014 7:09 AM in response to Randy Rannalsby jsnlee,I'm on an iPhone 5.
It was rebooting like mad for a short stretch before 7.0.5 was released, and it reverted to normal operation under 7.0.5. However, after installing 7.0.6 this past week, it started to exhibit the reboot issue again. I don't know if this issue was reintroduced with the latest iOS release, but it needs to be looked into again.
Restart, reset, restore have all yielded similar results to before...nothing.
Has anyone else experienced this situation?

Feb 26, 2014 7:54 AM in response to Randy Rannalsby Simon-KL,Hi,
Previously, I have this issue to until I switch the Reduce Motion to OFF. Since then I have no rebooting issue on all the iOS release..
Howerver I did some test with 7.0.4 and 7.0.5, when I switch Reduce Motion to ON, just to save some power, rebooting issue start again.. Switch Reduce Motion back to OFF, no problem.
And I don't bother doing the test again in 7.0.6...
Hope this helps.
