Sorry have but you have to share real information - what version of iPhoto do you have (the "latest" is not a version - the version is under the iPhoto menu ==> about iPhoto) - and your profile states that you have OS X 10.4.10 yet your post states Mavericks 10.9.x - again acurate details are citical

requirements and set up instructions for PhotoStream  are here  --  http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/photo-stream/

Beside iphone it says..more details.   Goes onto say you have to have this and that and if you have a lesser you have to purchase.

Unfortuantly you omit every critical detail orm your post - iek hat "more details" are here - what exactly does it say (This and that are of no help) No mind readers here - you need to share details with us

My Laptop is 10.9.1   iPhoto 8.1.2    since your last reply I went into check for he latest 9.5.1 But there was a lot of negatives to this.   My last iPhoto would have been iLife 09.

I thought when I updated to Maverick this iPhoto would have followed.   I hope you can guide me.  Thank you

Did ou read the link I posted?

What do I need to use My Photo Stream?

To use My Photo Stream you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:

    • iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 5.1 or later
    • Mac with OS X Lion v10.7.5 or later and iPhoto 9.2.2 or Aperture 3.2.3 or later
    • Apple TV (2nd generation) with Apple TV Software Update 5.0 or later
    • PC with Windows 7 or later and the iCloud Control Panel 2.1 or later for Windows

For complete iCloud setup instructions, visit How to set up iCloud.

Since you do not met the minimum software requiments you an not use "my PhotStream" - and as I suspected you not only do not have the latest version of iPHoto but are far. far behind

Your choces are to purchase a iLife '09 or '11 DVD and install Photo '09  or '11 or purchase iPhoto '11  in the app store

My personal suggesion is to ignore the negative reviews (they are meaningless) and join the  many millions of sastified iPhoto '11 users by purchasing it in the App store - and as always backup prior to any update or upgrade in case of probems
