Jan 24, 2014 10:59 PM in response to Highlordkramby It's Easy,Problem solved! After not moving a muscle ,terrified like a deer in the headlights, not wanting to make a mistake like the dozens of punters seeking a solution on this forum.I noticed that when composing mail the offending unwanted address paired with cloud was replaced with I presume the default address ,for want of a better word? So thus this address had now become the mythical "Alias" address ! Phew I do not recall doing any thing to accomplish this result but I can live with it.I am hoping that this arrangement will not prove a problem down the road when I might pluck up the courage to purchase some music! Yaaaaaaahhhhhhoooo!!Thanks every one! ,!!

Feb 9, 2014 7:44 AM in response to Highlordkramby gmarkey,If you already changed the primary email address on the icloud website, or your in your ap store settings and are still getting the old apple id in your icloud, . Here's what you do:
2. Go into your iPad Settings; i Cloud. Turn off find my ipad. When it come up to verify your account with the password, it will still have the old apple id.
3. You can not use the old apple id's password. Punch in the new password you entered for your new apple id.
4. That will shut off what is keeping the old id in there.
5. Go to the bottom of the page and hit, Delete Account.
6. Type in the new Apple ID, and password, and WALA! Your in!
I hope this helps out everyone!

Feb 11, 2014 6:46 AM in response to gail from maineby hellety,Hi Gail from Maine,
I see that you've helped a lot of people here, so I am hoping you can help me too.
I am in the same situation as the others here: I changed the email address associated with my Apple ID. It seems that this change has taken effect on all devices but my iPhone where the iCloud account is stuck with the old email.
I've tried your previously mentioned fix, but it didn't work for me. When I type in the password, it simply tells me that the password is wrong. I've tried changing my password to trigger something to happen, but to no avail. Neither the old password nor the new one will let me delete the iCloud account.
Can you help?

Feb 12, 2014 2:47 PM in response to Highlordkramby Timo NZ,This is doing my head in..
My gf's icloud was logged in on her work computer, then someone inadvertently setup the icloud email , not realising she was already logged in.
So now her icloud email is some strangers name...
We deleted the icloud account completely but the address was still there afterwards.
We've setup an alias, but ultimately want to delete the wrong address.
For a company as forward thinking as apple this is just stupid.

Feb 16, 2014 9:40 AM in response to Timo NZby littlemountainkatz, gmarkey's suggestion above is right on the mark. You have to DELETE your iCloud account from your iPhone/ipad in order for the problem to correct itself. It sounds scary, believe me, I hesitated before pressing "delete", but once you do you're taken back to the screen where you enter your Apple ID. THIS is where the problem corrects itself. Enter your primary Apple ID/password, the one from the Apple website, and your device will create the correct iCloud email based on that ID. In my case (because I changed my primary email), it asked me if I wanted to "merge" everything I had in my device to the cloud.
My iCloud now has the corrected email and I'm all set to go:)

Feb 17, 2014 11:37 AM in response to littlemountainkatzby confused in ogden,Help! Here's what I have done following your instructions, I press "delete account", hit "delete", hit "keep on my iphone" for icloud calendars, etc then the problem.....I get a screen that asks for the password from my old ID in order to turn off "Find My iphone". I tried the password associated with my old ID and the one associated with my new ID. Neither of them work.
My new ID and password are correct and usable from the apple and itunes web site, but I just can't seem to get far enough in the process to change it on my iphone.
Anyone?.....

Feb 17, 2014 11:52 AM in response to gmarkeyby confused in ogden,This doesn't work. It won't accept my new password to turn off "find my iphone". I know it is the current password because I can log into my apple account using it.
Anything else I can try?

Feb 26, 2014 8:28 AM in response to Highlordkramby NastiaBigun,I made sure that all my information on iCloud is in order on my MacBook and then deleted my old iCloud account from my phone and immediately signed back in with a new email and old password. Nothing was lost, I checked and once I deleted old account, all my contact names were gone, but because they were in iCloud, they came back immediately after I signed back in. Nothing to it...
