Q: Massive problem with audio interface

Hey I just finished reading all these post and probably like verybody I am very upset, same problem. No audio.

But there is hope - The option you have chosen, I was thinkig to do same thing,  buy Apollo Twin, seems is working!

Has anyone tried the latest 10.9.2 beta that was released yesterday?

iMac, fusion drive, Mavericks, motu soundcard... Same problems here...

My iMac came with Mountain Lion and I did the stupid thing to upgrade...

With mountain lion almost everything was ok. I say almost, because problems with USB 3 were there... For example, every time that I was turning off Ableton Push and there was music still playing from Motu, the whole audio system stoped for 1 second or something. One time I ejected an external hard drive (usb3) and happened the same.

But nothing can be compared to the problems that were intriduced since Mavericks came in... I can go for a clean instalation of Mountain Lion but I think i will wait for 10.9.2. If nothing changes, I think that everyone should go to an Apple store and make them understand how stupid this whole situaton is...

THE MOST ANNOYING THING IS THAT APPLE SAYS NOTHING ABOUT IT...

How do you 'transfer '  to the new non SSD partition?

I don't wanna have to reinstall various 3rd party music software and Migration Assistant doesn't seem to work

I was under the impression that the Focusrite stuff was working now with the class compliant driver, as long as you don't have a Fusion drive.

Am I mistaken?

(Sorry, I've lost track of who's doing what after about a month of this BS)

For me, the F-Rite is working even with the Fusion drive! Was definitely not working for about 3 - 4 weeks after maverick install from scratch. So that is why I thought the file re-balancing could be the root cause.

Anybody with a scarlett plus FD (working or not working)?

This is an update. I've been running  OS X 10.9.2 (13C44) (I think this is the third beta) for a week. It resolved my problems, removing the pops and clicks that occured with the ealier beta. i've waited to post to see if things would remain fixed. Works fine with MIDI software (Kontakt, etc.), audio recording, and playback, bouncing, etc. Had four hour session last night, and mixed all day today.

As this may not work for everyone, my setup is as follows:

Interface: Saffire Pro 40 -> Firewire 400 --> 800 adaptor --> Thunderbolt adaptor --> iMac

iMac:

27inch

3TB fusion drive

Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2048 MB

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

3.5 GHz Intel Core i7

Where did you find the third beta?

same setup as you, having the second beta.

I've just Partitioned my MM Fusion Drive and Have booted up Mavericks 10.9.1 from the NON SSD Superduper'd Partition and

BOOM   NO AUDIO GLITCHING! and the Graphics display issues are gone.

So its great to know 10.9.2 appears to work.

Just why we HAVE to go to such lengths to work around a juvenile OS like Mavericks......Lord only knows

The problem is, the site I found it at, only has the most recent beta. Since my beta, a new beta has been posted.

Since I've got time machine, I'm going to test it out. I'll let you know.

St last!!!! The 10.9.2 build 13c53 seems to solve The bit crusching issues. Imac Fusion late 2013 been running for more than 24 hours now and still no signs of pops, crackles or hiss fr.o.m. My Apogee Duett 2!

That's great news.  I hope they'll have final release soon.

Does it still loose synchronisation when using Logic X.

I think there is a bug with CoreAudio. As this been solved in 13c53 ?
