I know I can use the drop-down menu, but that's not what I want. I want a shortcut icon in my Mail toolbar. Does such a thing exist for Mac, as it does for Windows?

Not as far as I know, but you could try writing a 'Rule' to do that.

Such an icon does not exist in OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard" Mail.
Sorry, don't have a quick way to check OS X 10.7 "Lion", because I don't own a copy.
Both OS X 10.8 "Mountain Lion" Mail 6.x and OS X 10.9 "Mavericks" Mail 7.1 have a 'Move' icon available that can be added to the Mail toolbar, with Mail, View, Customize toolbar. (Far left, second row from the top in the Mavericks illustration below)
So, if your Mac is capable of running OS X 10.8 (a paid upgrade), or OS X 10.9 (a free upgrade) you can certainly add a Move button to Mail.
There may be other considerations before upgrading your OS, such as the amount of RAM installed in your system and the available hard disk/SSD storage space, as well as the effect on overall system performance, so don't make a hasty decision to upgrade simply to add the Move feature to Mail.
