Q: Blinking Amber light on Time Capsule

Hello. I just setup my Time capsule and I'm able to access the internet but the amber light on the Time capule won't stop blinking the amber light. Any suggestions and what does this mean? Does it affect me?

13" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.1)

It means there is an issue.. the issue could be minor.. eg a firmware upgrade is available.. or major. In your case not so major as you do have internet.

 

So remember that the TC is a dumb box that tells you nought.. open the airport utility and find out what it means..

 

Click on the TC Red Spot with the number of errors in it.. summary will open and look at the list of problems.. fix them or ignore them.. then the green light will come on.

For example my TC has a problem.. Default Password. I can fix it by giving it a non-default password.. or I can click ignore.

Since security on the TC is a massive illusion.. I have chosen to ignore it.. green light comes on.. everyone is happy.
