Q: Trouble access apple TV

I was unable to access Apple TV tonight so I finally tried holding down the menu and down button at the same time and now i am only able to see the computers and setting icons on the screen. I cannot access the "restart" button or see any options for viewing other than my library. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?  I've tried unplugging the power cord and that doesn't work either.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.

Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.

        1.    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).

        2.    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.

        3.    Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)

        4.    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)

        5.    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

Thank you very much. I unplugged the power cord and went to work. When I came home and plugged the cord back in, only the computer and systems icons showedon the screen however I now had a drop down menu option showing and was able to select the reset icon.  After doing the reset, the apple TV system worked.  This hadn't work last night but maybe having the system unplugged for 10 hours was the key.
