I am frequently working on documents where I have to retype certain (long!) words often. Is it possible to put multiple words/items on the clipboard and use them via different paste commands?

I have both pages 4.3 as pages 5.1 installed. Currently working in pages 5.1

If this is not directly possible in pages: are there any add-ons that enable this?

Thnx for any answer given!

Look on the internet. There are severa third party applications. I use CopyPaste since decades.

It has been the function of a Mac clipboard to hold only one item ever since its creation. I don't know if PCs have multi-item clipboards, but I doubt it. There are many text expansion applications on the market, but I found the best, simplest and cheapest is "aText", which you can get from the App Store. You run it as a normal application, but you can enable/disable it easily from the menu bar or via shortcut. You set up a "snippet" in the application which consists of a short abbreviation on one hand and a string of letters/numbers/pics of any length on the other. Whenever you type the abbreviation during your work, hey presto, the string magically appears complete with sound effects (so you are alerted). Worth every penny of the small investment.

    Flinn,

You are wise to be cautious about third party add-ons since they are frequently the cause of unusual behavior. When you must have a third party solution, pick one with a good track record and make sure you keep it updated, especially after major OS and in this case iWork releases.

No, Pages doesn't have it. CopyPaste works for all the applications on the computer that can copy and paste, not just Pages. You can copy form several applications and paste all in Pages. I have has it since MacOs 7 or 8.  http://plumamazing.com/mac/copypaste
