Q: I had a T-mobile LG Optimus, and I want to transfer my data (and phone number) from it to my new iPhone 5c.

I'm not very tech-savvy and need to transfer my number and all my data from my old sim card to my new iphone 5c. My old sim card doesn't even come close to fitting, and I don't want to have to buy an expensive transfer cord thing. Is there a trick i don't know ro a way to transfer old data to a new iphone? Thansk you so much!

iPhone 5c, iOS 7

Diffrent companies, no way, I think the carrier can transfter contacts for you but that's about it.

Contacts should not be stored on the SIM.

If they are synced to your Gmail account, I believe the Optimus is an android, simply setup the Gmail account on the iPhone and select to sync the contacts.

TMO will supply you with an appropriate SIM for the iPhone.

I was facing the same problem when moving from a Nokia C2 to an iPhone 4S.

I searched high and low for methods (or software) to transfer my contacts, but found nothing satisfactory and reliable.

What I did was, on the old Nokia copy all contacts to the Nokia's phone memory.
(Nokia can use both Sim- and memory contacts)
Then I took my new Simcard, put it in the Nokia and copied all contacts from memory to the Sim card.

Next step was to cut the micro Sim from the "normal" size Simcard, put it in the iPhone 4S and used "Import Simcard contacts".
That option doesn't becomes visible until after the Provider activated the Simcard.

Done, simple as that, but noone I talked to mentioned this.

They are probably all "native Apple" users.
