What happens when you use your PC or laptop ? If you haven't got iTunes installed on the computer that you want to use then you can download and install it from here : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

If your music is in a compatible format then you can add it to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library and your then sync it to your iPod.

To sync music, connect the iPod to your computer and select it on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (you can enable the sidebar via control-S on a PC) and use the Music tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes to select and sync the music that you want in the iPod's Music app.

    Syncing media : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351

You will possibly have to authorise your iTunes account on your computer's iTunes via the Store drop-down menu - if the menus don't show then control-B should them to do so.
