Q: error message:  AVCFPlayerAppliesMediaSelectionAutomaticallyKey could not be found in AV FoundationCF.dll.

I have repeatedly unistalled and reinstalled iTunes and quicktime to only received the same error code:  AVCFPlayerApliesMediaSelectionAutomaticallyKey could not....etc.  I have been searching and doing this since November 2013.  There must be a way to get it to work.  I have a PC operating on Window 7.   I have no problem on the MAC, but I'm a PC girl.

I was getting the apple application error, but I managed to get that installed.

Yes, I have gone into the control panel to repair the issue, but that too didn't work.

    AVCFPlayerApliesMediaSelectionAutomaticallyKey

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download and save a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website (don't run the install on line):

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)

Now, using the fresh installer file you downloaded, sapply the procedure from the following user tip (even though you're getting a different error message):

"The administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" error messages when installing iTunes for Windows on Windows Vista and Windows 7 systems

Thank you for such a quick response. However, that didn't help. There was no such file in the downloads bar. I uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled. Still nothing. Is there another location for the file?

Can you check something for me please? I'd like to try launching iTunes by doing a run as an administrator.

In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive you've got your program files installed on.

If you have a 32-bit Windows, open the Program Files folder.

If you have a 64-bit Windows, open the Program Files (x86) folder.

    Open the iTunes folder.

Right-click on the iTunes.exe file and select "Run as administrator".

Does iTunes launch without the error message now?

Okay ... let's try the "second box" procedures from the following user tip:

Ok, I followed the tips as requested. I deleted everything (nothing was in the c drive). I rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted and received the error code: Apple application support (error 2). Of all items deleted the only one that installed was iTunes. No bonjour, etc.

so do I install everything else?  And where do I find them?  How do I fox the apple application error?

Okay ... let's try installing the other components standalone.

Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").

    Go into the folder:

Doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.

Doubleclick the AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi to do a standalone ASU install.

Doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.

Doubleclick the Bonjour.msi (or Bonjour64.msi) to do a standalone Bonjour install.

Do those all go through okay? If so, can you get iTunes to launch without the error messages?
