Q: Hinge Issue on 2012 model of MacBook Pro Retina

The hinge (black plastic piece) holding the monitor to the chassis of the laptop is very loose. Whenever I press onto the black hinge-piece there is a sound. Is anyone else having this issue? I would suspect that it's a manufacturing defect.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, Mac OS X (10.0.x)

If you're still covered by a warranty (which doesn't seem to be the case here), Apple will probably repair the hinge.

If you're not under warranty, I'd go to your Apple Store/Genius Bar, and there's a good chance they can fix it in-store - and probably for free. I'm not sure if it's a manufacturing defect, but it's a good idea to say something like "I really treat this machine gently, and then this hinge thing happens..."
