You can move them to another account temporarily or simply archive them. (This user tip might help you understand how accounts work with Contacts (Address Book)).
However, I suspect you probably don't need to do any of this, can you just not delete the iCloud account from your phone and add it again later.

As I said before though I suspect you don't need to do any of this.
