Feb 22, 2014 4:29 PM in response to joetozby Alchroma,Maybe you have auto updating set??
If so tour Mac will be updating FCP X to the newer 10.1.1.
It's over 1 gig of download and will take as long as your internet connectin will allow, maybe hours.
Open the App Store and have a look in the Updates tab to confirm if an update is available or started.

Feb 22, 2014 5:16 PM in response to joetozby babylonslim,Are you signed into the App Store, what are your System Preference settings for The App Store? Was the ver. of FCP X that you have on your computer bought using your Apple Account?
There is an APP Store Forum, perhaps someone over ther might have some ideas?

Feb 22, 2014 9:04 PM in response to joetozby mauriciofromaustin,You can try to see if this is a USER issue on your Mac rather than a software issue. I do know that the App Store can get buggy.
Can you log into the App Store? Are you able to view you purchases within iTunes Account?

How to create a new user:
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11468
You can create a new user and then try to open FCPX. If FCPX works with the new "test" user then your issue is with the App Store App.

This may help with the App Store issue, if indeed creating a new user results in the same problem.
