Dec 20, 2013 6:08 AM in response to Derick Fayby genwriter,Like so many others, I updated to Keynote 6.0.1 and regret having done so!
My question is has anyone found a workaround to this:
under REHEASE SLIDESHOW
the PRESENTER NOTES cannot be resized...it's now locked in one narrow horizontal box.
This was the reason why I bought KEYNOTE so that I could customize the Presenter Display. Now this application is essentially useless to me.
When a manufacturer, like APPLE, changes their product from the orginal design, customers should be given their money back!

Jan 2, 2014 7:30 PM in response to Capibaroby ppowellpp,Hi Capibaro,
We have a Keynote problem because the presenter notes cannot be made any bigger or the currant slide / next slide cannot be made smaller like the old version, so it hampers the flow of the presentation.... I have posted this as a problem but no one is home at apple to offer any suggestions or solutions

Jan 3, 2014 2:25 AM in response to ppowellppby Capibaro,I never use the presenter notes, but i managed to open te former version of keynote with an old .key document. The old version is still on your computer, you just have to get it to open. Maybe my trick works for you.
The only thing we can do is give the feedback to apple and give Keynote 6 a bad rating in the appstore. This might speed up the process of improving it.

Jan 3, 2014 3:31 PM in response to Derick Fayby rlivingston,I cannot (in Keynote 6) duplicate an object placeholder for an image which is how I would build a custom master slide in Keynote 5.
In short, I do not know how to create a master slide to show 4 images (with 4 image object placeholders) which I could do easily in Keynote 5. If you take an existing master slide with 3 image object placeholders and duplicate one of them, it just duplicates the image itself -- not its property as an object placeholder

Jan 23, 2014 3:52 PM in response to rlivingstonby Saqib,Nice to see the update today - especially in numbers where you can now multi-column sort.
Still no animation options in master slide edits in keynote though

Plenty time, there still 5 months left of the 6 month period Apple said they would take to issue updates.

Feb 21, 2014 3:17 AM in response to Gary Scotlandby chiefsquirrel,Nice one. It's an improvement to be sure.. but I want the current slide on my presenter screen.
I don't want to have to keep turning around to check the current slide at the projected image behind me.
Close, but no cigar!

Feb 22, 2014 2:07 PM in response to Gary Scotlandby ppowellpp,Hi Gary, the problem with this solution at the moment is that there is no way to make the notes area larger or reduce the next and currant slides sizes, rendering it useless for someone who uses reading glasses

Of course there is, I have explained it 3 times.
1 - change the text in notes to any size, any font, any colour.
2 - in presenter display, click the presenter tools options button:
4 - then select which combination of items to show as illustrated below
(double click the images to view them in a larger size):
Full screen notes:
current slide and half screen notes:
next slide and half screen notes:

Feb 23, 2014 12:54 PM in response to Gary Scotlandby chiefsquirrel,Thanks for taking the time to upload those screenshots.
It seems the lack of the "customise presenter display window" function in the pull down menu has bamboozled some users of the previous Keynote version 5 (myself included!).
I've generally got no problems doing the same things a different way in new software. I guess the ability to customise the presenter display to any configuration/size you want is the issue. The presenter display options in 6.1 are definitely an improvement, but are still a little like "a workaround".
I'm going to stick with my initial post in this thread and stick with Keynote 5. I've spent hours/days/weeks getting my presentations exactly how I want them. I don't want to have to compromise that when upgrading to the new version.
