Feb 23, 2014 4:39 PM in response to Gary Scotlandby ppowellpp,That is great UNLESS you want the current and next slide visible, which we want. Previous version let you make the notes bigger and have 2 smaller windows for the slide views.

May 13, 2014 7:51 PM in response to Frederic Sebtonby tokyodesigner,This is still not fixed. I have grouped objects that I want to scale, but I cannot turn off constrain proportions, which means I have to draw them again to make them work. I think the OP is right, Apple is aiming everything at the average consumer, no more pro line of software. It's iOS or bust from here on. Funny how I was really amped to jump from Powerpoint to Keynote, but now I'm amped to get back to Powerpoint. After upgrading to Mavericks, I now have dozens of documents, each consisting of 100s of pages of documentation and detailed wireframes, that are all broken because of this. Webdings! I mean, I lean heavily on Webdings to generate simple arrows for buttons in my wires and screen flow diagrams. Now all I see are numbers in place of Webdings. Come on Apple!

Jun 13, 2014 5:43 AM in response to Derick Fayby Guy Burns,This problem with QT exports not retaining their interactivity or manual advance under Mavericks (unless QT7 is installed), where does the problem come from? Is it that with Keynote running under Mavericks, without QT7 installed:
- The encoding is correct (so the file will play outside of Mavericks), but the decoding on playback by QT10 under Mavericks is incorrect?
- The encoding is incorrect (the file won't play properly anywhere), meaning that QT10 also cannot decode properly?
How does QT7 fix this problem? Does it take over from QT10?

Jun 13, 2014 7:27 AM in response to Guy Burnsby Kyn Drake,It's based around "sprites" or a control track that used to be used in QT7. As it's like a mini programming language inside a QuickTime file, Apple got rid of it in QT10 and forward. Much like how they removed JavaScript interactivity because of some exploits that showed up on social media sites.
I'll have to try creating a video on a machine that doesn't have QT10 installed and see if Keynote is still creating a video with a sprite track (I'd guess not??)

Jun 17, 2014 10:02 AM in response to robkubaskoby Richard Lynch,One thing missing in both versions is the ability to change the font in the presenter notes on a master slide.
-
Jun 17, 2014 12:12 PM in response to Richard Lynchby Gary Scotland,Presenter notes are accessed from the view button in the tool bar, not from Master Slides. The font, size, colour, alignment, spacing, bullet and lists can all be set from the inspector. The presenter notes inspector is the side panel on the right hand side when the presenter notes is selected.

Aug 21, 2014 5:28 PM in response to Gary Scotlandby Saqib, looks like they aren't bothered about fixing the issues. I'm sure they said 'in the next six months' - but nothing.
I tell ya, this wouldn't have happened if Steve was around. Timmy needs to run a tighter ship.

Aug 21, 2014 5:55 PM in response to Derick Fayby WobWong,Absolutely, Apple have stuffed up Keynote big time. I stick with 5.9 and have to use Powerpoint now (yuk). Apple have no idea what they have wrecked and its core to my business. All the money spent on nice templates now don't work as 6 doesn't do layers either.

Aug 21, 2014 6:14 PM in response to WobWongby Michael Diehr,My items:
* QuickTime formats with closed-captioniong that used to work in Keynote 5 no longer work in Keynote 6
KeyNote 6.2 won't show closed captioning / subtitles
* Upgrading a keynote 5 file to keynote 6: ignores your settings, and copies all media items into the project file.

Oct 3, 2014 1:57 PM in response to jwleblanby Patmandu,I cannot drag and drop images from Apple Mail to Keynote
And the keyboard shortcut for increasing/decreasing font size doesn't work
-
Oct 4, 2014 2:37 AM in response to Patmanduby Gary Scotland,These functions work correctly for Keynote 6.2.2 so there is an issue with your installation, delete Keynote and re-instal from Mac App Store.

Oct 13, 2014 12:18 PM in response to rootdrby threesixty,It would be nice to stay with 5.3 but, since I updated to Mavericks, Keynote 5.3 crashes every time I launch it.

Oct 14, 2014 2:19 AM in response to threesixtyby Gary Scotland,Perform this repair procedure:
remove keynote, you must use an application remover to do this, (Appcleaner from Mac Update is freeware)
shut down the Mac
Start up in safe mode by pressing the shift key immediately after the start chime until the Apple symbol appears, it will take longer to start up as the OS is being repaired
When the Mac is fully booted, go to: Applications > Utilities > Disk utility. click the System hard drive in the list then go to first aid tab > Repair Disc
Reboot normally
re-install iWork and install the updates for Keynote from: Apple Menu > Software update

Oct 18, 2014 1:45 PM in response to Derick Fayby Saqib, still missing many features. it's tedious but I stick with iWork 09 for everything - simple things just don't work well in the 'new and improved' keynote/iwork.

Jan 19, 2015 8:41 AM in response to Derick Fayby s_w_i_t_t_e_r_s,I searched a bit through this thread but did not see this mentioned (apologies if I missed it).
In Keynote 5.1.3 it was possible to define text attributes for each different master slide separately. There were two options:
- Define text for all masters
- Define text for current masters
In Keynote 6, I don't see these options. There is only:
- Define as text placeholder
- Set as default text box appearance
Neither of these have the desired effect. Is there a way to "define text on current master" in Keynote 6?
