apparently iTune codes only work in the country in which they were bought, my girlfriend just got me a $50 iTunes card as a little surprise while she was with her family in canada (I'm from the US) and I cant use it because its a canadian code.

In our global society, I think Itunes/Apple needs to come up with a solution to this. My twist on this is I bought a used iPod from Ebay and it works fine. However, I bought an iTunes card down the street from where I live in Florida, and then tried to credit the iPod with the $50 again in Florida. It would not work. It gave me the error message that I must "redeem in a US storefront." I even took the card to the local Apple “storefront”, but apparently they a different franchise or entity then the folks who issue the iTunes gift cards and can’t help. So the error message “storefront” actually means online store. Anyways, it just leaves you feeling frustrated and with no where to turn.
